Applied E.I. Part 1: Intrapersonal Intelligence

Our Applied Emotional Intelligence (E.I.) courses are in two parts, each awarding a certificate of completion. Come to one, or both!

In order to be an effective leader to others, we must be an authentic leader of ourselves.

Part 1 is Intrapersonal Intelligence (understanding yourself). You’ll strengthen the internal foundation that shapes every decision, reaction, and relationship (business or otherwise) in your life.

This hands-on experiential day of training dives into all 3 official intrapersonal competencies within emotional intelligence; self-awareness, managing emotions, and motivating oneself.

Guided by Tacktics’ internationally certified facilitators and our highly attuned horses, this course brings your internal landscape into clear view. Horses respond not to titles or intentions, but to congruence, confidence, clarity, and emotional regulation. Their immediate, honest feedback reveals patterns in self-awareness, adaptability, and personal motivation that often go unnoticed in traditional classroom settings. With this real-time feedback, participants are given the opportunity to practice new strategies and regulate themselves differently throughout each arena experience.

Delivery outline:

Each arena session begins and ends with classroom training. The day kicks-off with Self-Awareness: the crucial, fundamental skill that all of your E.I. builds off (the most important soft skill). Develop clarity around:

  • Body Language

  • Authenticity

  • Confidence

  • Self-Esteem

  • Behavioral Patterns

  • Your impact on others and the environment around you

Building off that we go into Managing Emotions, focusing on:

  • Adaptability

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Conflict Navigation

  • Innovation

  • Articulation

  • Healthy Boundaries.

This objective will build the capacity to respond rather than react, and the ability to stay focused and think clearly even when experiencing powerful emotions.

Finally, Motivating Oneself explores:

  • Decision Making

  • Ownership

  • Internal Drive

  • Intentional Choices

  • Resilience

  • Personal Responsibility

This will strengthen your ability to lead yourself forward regardless of circumstance.

In addition to classroom learning and arena courses, participants will complete Tacktics’ comprehensive EQ Assessment prior to the training day. Each participant will receive their results and a personalized written report prepared by our certified EQ coaches. This assessment provides a clear snapshot of your scores within the three intrapersonal competencies, as well as the two interpersonal competencies covered in Part 2 of our Applied E.I. training. This data-driven insight enhances the experiential learning and offers a measurable starting point for growth. A follow-up assessment may be purchased after training.

Participants will develop skills in:

  • Self-awareness and authenticity

  • Emotional regulation and adaptability

  • Personal accountability and intentional decision-making

  • Healthy boundaries and conflict navigation

  • Internal motivation and resilience

  • Understanding behavioral impact on others
