Service shapes you. It sharpens instincts, builds discipline, and demands resilience.
But, transitioning between military life and civilian life, or carrying service experiences forward, can create challenges that aren’t always talked about.
This 2-hour experiential course is designed specifically for veterans and active-duty service members who want to strengthen their relationship with themselves and reconnect more effectively with others in civilian life.
Using Tacktics’ proven horse-assisted learning approach, participants will engage in hands-on, ground-based activities with calm, well-trained horses. Horses respond to authenticity, intention, and emotional awareness - offering immediate, honest feedback without judgment. No prior horse experience required, and there is no riding involved.
Course focus includes:
Rebuilding trust and self-awareness after service
Strengthening confidence, purpose, and identity beyond the uniform
Improving connection with others in civilian environments
This is not group therapy and not a lecture. It’s an active, structured experience that respects military culture - direct, practical, and grounded in real-world application.
Participants work individually and as a team through the globally acclaimed course led by internationally certified equine-assisted learning facilitators and emotional intelligence coaches.
What to expect:
Small group environment
Clear orientation and safety briefing
Outdoor, hands-on activities
Whether you’re newly transitioned, years removed from service, or still serving, this course meets you where you are.
Mission focus:
Strengthen the individual. Support the transition. Build connection.
The registration fee for this course has been partially sponsored by Kaladi’s Coffee Bar and Corner Churro Cafe in Galena, IL.
